A. Restricted Areas for Driving Lessons with In-Car Instructor in Toronto Near Drive Test Center Locations
If you are a student driver at Globe Driving Academy or a driver interested in PTC License to work as an Uber/Lyft driver in Toronto, you must know that practicing driving lessons with a driving instructor in Toronto is not allowed in 6 areas within the boundaries of Drive Test Centres. The City of Toronto has banned driving instructors from taking students to practice in their vicinity. Taking driving lessons in a restricted area can result in fines of up to $5000.
1. Etobicoke DriveTest
In-car lessons are prohibited in the area ranging from 401 in the north to Burnhamthorpe Road in the south, and then from Dixie Road in the west to Mill Road / Centennial Park Boulevard in the east. You also can not take driving lessons in the area ranging from Etobicoke Creek in the west to 427 in the east, and then from Eglinton Avenue West in the North to Bloor Street in the south.
2. Mississauga DriveTest
Driving lessons are prohibited in the area ranging from 401 in the north to Britannia Road West in the south, and then from Creditview Road in the west to Mavis Road in the east. You can not take in-car lessons in the area ranging from the 407 in the north to the 401 in the south, and then from Mavis Road in the west to Hurontario Street in the east.
3. Downsview DriveTest
You are not allowed to practice driving lessons near the Downsview DriveTest location. Driving lessons are also prohibited in the area ranging from Finch Avenue in the north to the 401 in the south, and then from Jane Street in the west to Bathurst Street in the east.
4. Metro East DriveTest
You can not take driving lessons near the Metro East DriveTest location. Driving lessons are prohibited in the area ranging from the 401 in the north to Eglinton Avenue East in the south, and then from Leslie Street in the west to Kennedy Road in the east.
B. Restricted Areas Near Toronto ZOO and Any Public Park.
1. Toronto Zoo
The area near the Toronto Zoo is also a restricted area for driving lessons. This second restricted area covers the area ranging from Finch Ave East in the north to Ellesmere Road in the south, and then from Neilson Road in the west to Meadowvale in the east.
2. Public Parks
Taking Driving Lessons with in-car instructors is also prohibited in any public park in Toronto.
In conclusion, the bylaw prohibits driving instructors from bringing their students into the areas mentioned above. However, driving instructors are still allowed to pick up and drop off their students who live within the restricted area.
